My granny
News came from my dad last month that my paternal grandma was admitted to the hospital due to some health issue, who was informed that she needed much rest after being examined and was discharged few days later.
She was readmitted into hospital the week after and was diagnosed with cancer. She was told that she will be left with <6mths, but was informed 2 wks ago that she will be left with just 1mth.
Many things happened within this period and it has made me realised many truths. My granny's most favoured son (2nd eldest uncle) was in East Timor. My dad's sister-in-law was informed to recall him back on compassionate cause. But everyone was shocked and caught by surprised when she remarked; Oh, its alright! Don't need to bother him on this, moreover his mum looked fine when i visited her the other day(exact same words). Not only my dad but I, too was boiling mad when we heard that statement from her. I told myself; so does that mean you will then recall him back if only something happens? It pissed me even more when i heard from my mum that among all the in-laws, she was favoured most by my granny.
My dad, out of the 8 children was the only child given away to be fostered by someone else due to inability to support but was reconcilated when i was 5. I cried when i saw my dad teared bitterly as my granny clutched on my dad's hand apologetically saying(in dialect); bearing to one but yet unable to support/provide for. But on a good note, my granny was baptized earlier this month so Praise God.
